Commercial Operations

Greenhouse environmental controls, compliance management, B2B ordering, inventory tracking, shipping logistics, plant royalties, and quality control.

🌡️Greenhouse Controls

  1. In the Commercial tab, tap "Greenhouse."
  2. Set up greenhouse zones with environmental targets.
For each zone, configure target ranges for temperature, humidity, light (DLI), CO2, and airflow. Verdix monitors readings against targets and alerts on deviations.
  3. View the environmental control dashboard.
A real-time view of all zones showing current vs. target for each parameter. Color-coded indicators show green (in range), yellow (approaching limit), and red (out of range).
  4. Set up alarm rules for critical deviations.
For example: temperature below 40°F in tropical zone triggers immediate phone notification and auto-response suggestions (close vents, engage backup heater).
  5. Track energy usage and costs per zone for optimization.
💡
Environmental uniformity drives quality uniformity. Use the zone-level data to identify hot spots, cold spots, and areas with poor air circulation.

📋Compliance & Certification

  1. In the Commercial tab, tap "Compliance."
  2. Set up your compliance profiles: Organic (USDA NOP), GAP, state nursery license, pesticide applicator, or custom.
Each compliance profile has its own checklist, document requirements, and renewal calendar.
  3. Upload and organize compliance documents.
Store certificates, inspection reports, SDS sheets, applicator licenses, and audit preparation materials. Verdix tracks expiration dates and sends renewal reminders.
  4. Use the audit prep tool before inspections.
Generates a pre-inspection checklist based on your compliance profiles. Walk through each requirement and mark pass/fail with notes.
  5. Track the 36-month organic transition timeline for converting fields.
💡
Start your compliance documentation early. Organic certification requires 36 months of records before you can label products as organic.
⚠️
Verdix helps organize compliance records but does not provide legal or regulatory advice. Always work with your certifying agency and legal counsel for compliance questions.

🛒B2B Ordering Portal

  1. In the Commercial tab, tap "B2B Portal."
  2. Set up your product catalog with photos, sizes, pricing tiers, and availability.
Replace static weekly PDF availability lists with live, searchable inventory that buyers can access 24/7.
  3. Configure customer accounts with pricing tiers and credit terms.
Set up volume discounts, seasonal pricing, account-specific rates, and Net 30/60/90 credit lines.
  4. Buyers browse, search, and place orders directly through the portal.
  5. Review incoming orders, approve credit orders, and schedule fulfillment.
  • Real-time availability lists (replaces weekly PDF updates)
  • Digital product catalogs with photos, sizes, and pricing
  • Custom pricing tiers: volume, seasonal, account-specific
  • Credit term management: Net 30/60/90 with A/R tracking
  • Pre-orders and contract growing reservations
  • Dynamic pricing engine for supply/demand adjustments
💡
The B2B portal replaces phone, fax, and email ordering. Most wholesalers report 40-60% reduction in order processing time after switching to digital ordering.

📦Inventory & RFID Tracking

  1. In the Commercial tab, tap "Inventory."
  2. Add inventory items with QR codes, barcodes, or RFID tags.
Verdix generates QR codes for plant tags that link to care info — branded per nursery. Scan UPC, EAN-13, or Code 128 barcodes for order picking.
  3. Perform inventory counts by scanning or manual entry.
  4. For RFID operations, configure RFID readers for automated inventory counts.
RFID integration can reduce inventory counting labor by 80%+. Supports handheld RFID readers and drone-based RFID flyover counting.
  5. Track lifecycle: from propagation through growth stages to shipment and sale.
💡
Start with QR codes — they're free to generate and work with any smartphone camera. Move to RFID when your inventory volume justifies the reader investment.

🚚Shipping & Logistics

  1. In the Commercial tab, tap "Shipping."
  2. Create shipping routes with temperature-controlled requirements.
Live plants need specific temperature ranges during transit. Verdix optimizes delivery routes while maintaining climate requirements.
  3. Schedule deliveries in 2-hour windows with advance notice to customers.
  4. Manage phytosanitary certificates for interstate and international shipments.
Track which shipments need phytosanitary certificates and log certificate numbers, inspection dates, and destinations.
  5. Handle shipping damage claims with photo documentation and resolution workflows.
💡
Plan shipments for Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend transit. Live plant shipments that arrive on Friday risk sitting in warehouses over the weekend.
