The Weather tab shows your location, USDA hardiness zone, current temperature, conditions, humidity, wind speed, and UV index at a glance. Your location and zone are displayed in the header (e.g., "Portville, NY - Zone 5b").

π₯ΆFrost Risk Alerts
When any day in the 5-day forecast has a low temperature near or below freezing, a red frost alert banner appears at the top of the weather screen. The banner shows which days have frost risk and the expected low temperature for each.

Check the frost alert every evening during spring and fall. If frost is expected, bring potted plants indoors, cover tender seedlings, and harvest any ripe produce before nightfall.

At the bottom of the forecast, Verdix shows up to 3 context-aware garden tips based on current conditions and the upcoming forecast. Tips change dynamically β they're different on a sunny calm day vs. a cold rainy week.
- Frost warnings: "Frost is coming β bring potted plants inside and cover tender seedlings tonight."
- Watering advice: "No rain in the next couple days β good time to water your garden."
- UV guidance: "UV is high today β best planting hours are early morning or evening."
- Calm day tips: "Calm and mild conditions β great day to transplant or prune."

- Scroll down past Garden Tips to the "Your Growing Zone" section.
- View your USDA Hardiness Zone, auto-detected from your zip code.The zone badge shows your zone number (e.g., 5b) with the minimum winter temperature range. Your zip code is displayed so you can verify the detection is correct.
- Review your average first and last frost dates.The Frost Dates section shows your average last spring frost (e.g., May 10) and average first fall frost (e.g., Oct 5), with countdown showing days away from each date.
- Check the Growing Season bar to see your outdoor growing window.The green bar shows your growing season length in days (e.g., 148 days) with the date range from last frost to first frost.
- Tap "Zone Details β Cold-Hardy Plants" to see plant recommendations for your zone.

Your USDA zone is based on average annual minimum winter temperature. Zone 5b means your minimum is -15 to -10Β°F. Plant tags at nurseries show zone ranges β if your zone falls within the range, the plant should survive winter outdoors.
